Writing Consultations

The LCAE offers free one-on-one writing consultations for students in LCAE programs (Gateway Scholars, Longhorn Link Program, McNair Scholars and UTransition students).

Elena Payne-Wiens coordinates the writing consultation component:  epayne-wiens@austin.utexas.edu, (512) 232-2921.  The LCAE Writing Consultants are Jessica Sisavath and Mat Evans.

Spring 2013 Schedule

To make an appointment with an LCAE Writing Consultant, go to the Google calendar link: http://tinyurl.com/lcaewritingtutor.   If you do not have a Gmail account, you can log in with your UT email and password to see the appointment calendar.

 When you log in to the online Google calendar, look under “Settings” on the calendar and make sure it’s set to CENTRAL time. Otherwise, you’ll have the wrong time for your appointment!

You may also drop in during the hours below, but you might have to wait behind students who have made appointments.

All LCAE writing consultations take place in SSB 4.400.

The Undergraduate Writing Center (UWC)

If you are not able to make an appointment with an LCAE Writing Consultant, please visit the UWC in Flawn Academic Center (FAC) 211, (512) 471-6222.  They provide free, one-on-one consultations for any writing project.  It is best to call and make an appointment:  M-Th, 9 am – 7 pm; Fri., 9 am – 3 pm.

Help with Psychology and Sociology classes

Taking PSY 301 or SOC 302 (or other psychology or sociology classes)?  Drop in to the LCAE Study Lounge (SSB 4.400) and work with our Psych and Soc tutor, Ashley Hurst!
