How to Pledge

There are two ways to pledge beginning October 1: online or on paper. Payment methods are payroll deduction, cash, or check.

Online

  1. Log in to the Hearts of Texas pledge form.
  2. Payment Options:
    • Returning Donors:
      • Show me my gift from last year, or
      • Fill in the form with last year’s gift information for me.
    • New Donors:
      • Select a payment option:
        • For 12 or 9 monthly donations (depending on your appointment status) select: Payroll Deduction
        • For a one time donation select: Check (You must provide the check number) or Cash
  3. Select how you wish to distribute your gift.
    • Select the agency code from the donation booklet and enter it in the “Agency Code” box.
    • Enter the amount.
      • If you choose Cash or Check, enter the full amount of your gift.
      • If you choose Payroll Deduction, enter the monthly amount you wish to have deducted.
  4. Acknowledgement.Select the type or of acknowledgement you wish to receive, otherwise your gift will remain anonymous.
  5. Once you have completed the above sections of the form, you are ready to click “submit your gift“. If you do not hit submit, your pledge will not be processed.
  6. If you choose to make a one time gift by cash or check, please turn in a copy of your online pledge form and your payment to your departmental representative.
  7. Print out a copy of your pledge form. This will serve as your receipt.

Paper pledge form (Higher Education Authorization Form)

  1. Please print your name, address, university, department, mailing address, phone number and e-mail address.
  2. Acknowledgement.Select the type or of acknowledgement you wish to receive, otherwise your gift will remain anonymous.
  3. Select how you wish to distribute your gift.
    • Select the agency code from the donation booklet and enter it in the “Agency Code” box.
    • Enter the amount.
      • If you choose Cash or Check, enter the full amount of your gift.
      • If you choose Payroll Deduction, enter the monthly amount you wish to have deducted.
  4. Payment Options:
    • Select a payment option:
      • For 12 or 9 monthly donations (depending on your appointment status) select: Payroll Deduction
      • For a one time donation select: Check (You must provide the check number) or Cash
  5. Sign and date the pledge form, be sure to include your EID on the form.
  6. If you selected payroll deduction and did not complete the online form, then you must turn your paper forms in to your departmental representative.
  7. If you choose to make a one time gift by cash or check, you must turn in a copy of your pledge form and white and yellow copies of your form with your payment to your departmental representative. Save the pink copy, as it will serve as your receipt.
