Texas Latin Dance hosts a benefit pageant

On April 22, 2011, Texas Latin Dance hosted the 2011 TLD Papi Chulo Pageant supporting the Susan G. Komen Foundation. It featured a total of seven contestants competing for the title in a series of three rounds: a walkoff round, a talent portion, and a formal wear question and answer session. The audience not only enjoyed the show but also received various facts about breast cancer awareness. The event was hosted at the Texas Union Theater and was a huge success. All proceeds were donated to the Komen Foundation. Such a great turnout wouldn’t have been possible with the publicity items DDCE helped us fund. We are very thankful for the opportunity.

The Texas Latin Dance Papi Chulo Pageant was co-sponsored by the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement
