Mash-Up Lecture: Dub & Sports Politics
The McNay Art Museum in San Antonio tackles Radcliffe Bailey’s themes of water, blues and blood with a new lecture series, inspired by the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. Two passionate experts present brief talks on specific, and very different, areas of interest. After fielding audience questions, once seemingly disparate subjects connect.
This lecture features Justin Boyd, artist and lecturer at The University of Texas at San Antonio, and Leonard Moore, associate vice president, Division of Diversity and Community Engagement at The University of Texas at Austin. Hosted by Liz Lloyd, Museum Educator, Family & Teacher Programs.
Space is limited. To reserve your free tickets, call 210.805.1768 or e-mail education at mcnayart.org.
Radcliffe Bailey’s exhibit, Memory as Medicine, will be shown at the McNay until September 2. Bailey is an Atlanta-based artist whose range of artistic materials echoes his African American heritage. Read more about Bailey at http://www.answers.com/topic/radcliffe-bailey#ixzz20QVzNjMK
