Mayra Hernandez is a great example of how University of Texas at Austin graduates are changing the world and of how an Intellectual Entrepreneurship Pre-Grad Internship contributes. Hernandez participated in the IE program in 2006. After completing a Masters of Social Work, Hernandez became a bilingual counselor at Safe Place in Austin. She provides individual, family and group counseling to victims of sexual assault and or domestic violence. Many of her Latina/o clients also present with human trafficking issues and discuss traumas related to Mexico crimes.

Undergraduates may still register for the Intellectual Entrepreneurship Pre-Graduate School Internship, which provides an opportunity for undergraduate students to work closely with a graduate student mentor and/or faculty member. Course offered in the fall.
