Hogg Foundation Creates El Paso Internship Consortium

August 27, 2012

The Hogg Foundation for Mental Health is expanding its reach to provide mental health services to the citizens of El Paso by awarding a $550,000 grant over five years to create the El Paso Psychology Internship Consortium.

The consortium is a partnership between The University of Texas at El Paso, William Beaumont Army Medical Center and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso. The funds will be used to support 24 doctoral pyschology students, with six internships in the first year, and expanding to eight by 2017. The consortium plans to seek accreditation of the internships from the American Psychological Association.
