Last month, Multicultural Engagement Center (MEC) students from all six student agencies hosted welcome events for incoming and returning students at the university to kick-off a new academic year.
The events varied by agency and featured entertainment and activity and resource tables that included the Gender and Sexuality Center, the Volunteer and Service Learning Center and Project Males. Several highlights from the week-long festivities included a lock-in at the Highland Lake Camps and Conference Center as part of the new Black student weekend, a Native American round dance, and a student talent show showcasing skits, Latin dance and fraternity and sorority stepping.
Besides learning more about what the university has to offer, participants also enjoyed free food and a chance to win door prizes and giveaways. Here are some photos from the following events, Steps to Success, Sabado Gigante, You Bring Out the Asian in Me and Four Directions.
