During this past month of November, Baal Dan Charities hosted its sixth annual Baal Danquet at the SAC Ballroom. It was a great evening! Students arrived dressed in traditional South Asian attire. As the evening progressed everyone enjoyed the spectacular performances, as well as, the traditional Indian dinner catered from Indian Palace. The performances consisted of three phenomenal South Asian dance groups, Texas Raas, Nritya Sangam, and Texas Bhangra. There was also a mind-blowing performance by two talented singers, Neha Srivastava and Dimple Swali. Magic Club was also present at the event! After dinner we had the dance floor open to the public and in a matter of minutes everyone was doing the wobble! This event was a great success for our organization and our mission to raise awareness.

The contributions from Co-op, DDCE, Student Government, Senate of Student Councils, South Asian Institute and APAC helped out greatly in making this event a big success. It was a great night for all the individuals that came out to celebrate the diverse South Asian culture at UT!

Baal Danquet was co-sponsored by the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement, as part of the DDCE Student Organization Co-Sponsorship Funding.
