Orange Jackets Capture the 40 Acres

December 4, 2012

November 2012 was the sixth annual Capture the 40 Acres event hosted by Orange Jackets. This event allows students from across UT’s campus to interact through friendly competition in a university-wide capture-the-flag tournament. This event serves as a fundraiser, in which all proceeds go to The Settlement Home, a home for helping abused and neglected girls between the ages of 5-17. This year we had 41 six-member teams compete in three rounds of capture-the-flag! Everyone had a blast! Our university’s historic landmarks served as bases where we paired two teams together to compete. We raised over $4,000 for The Settlement Home, making this year our most successful yet! We could not have done it without the support of DDCE. We hope next year will be even bigger with more teams and fun. Thank you to everyone who came out to the event, and we hope to see you again next year!

Capture the 40 Acres was co-sponsored by the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement.
