December 18, 2012

The Advancing America Foundation in partnership with the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement and the City of Austin invite elected officials, educators, nonprofit directors, policy advocates and community leaders to participate in  MOVE LEARN EXCEL: Summit on the Impact of Health & Fitness on Academics. The interactive summit will be held January 25, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at The University of Texas at Austin Darrel K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium – Touchdown Club.

Participants will discuss the latest research on current health trends and the importance of physical activity from infancy through adolescence with the goal of helping Austin become a leader in reducing childhood obesity. A healthier student population will not only increase academic performance but build a stronger workforce for Central Texas as well.

During the MOVE LEARN EXCEL Summit, nationally renowned researchers and educators will define specific actions each organization can take to promote health and fitness initiatives in every community. Organizations will learn how to implement trainings and physical activities into their current programs, as well as ways to collaborate with other organizations to maximize the impact on students across Central Texas.

Please RSVP at www.FeriaParaAprender.com/move-learn-excel by Friday January 11.

Registration is free but seating is limited! Please register as early as possible to confirm your seat.
