April 6: Forum on Helping Our Youngest Children Thrive

February 12, 2013

A moderated deliberative forum, “Right from the Start: What Should We Do to Help Our Youngest Children Thrive? ” will be held April 6, 2013, at the University of Texas Elementary School from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The forum is cosponsored by Vicki Totten, New College, and Jack Green Musselman, Center for Ethics and Leadership, both at St. Edward’s University. Lunch will be provided.

The forum will explore the development of our youngest children, as well as its ripple effective impact on our communities and nation.  The small group discussions will weigh in on three options to consider regarding the needs of our youngest citizens – exploring the values, trade-offs and unintended consequences inherent in each of the three options in our approach to helping all of our children have the best possible start in life.  The forum is open to the St. Edward’s community and the general public.

To register for the forum or to view the issue guide being used for it, go online to  http://deliberativeforum.eventbrite.com/. Registration is limited to 50 participants. For questions about the forum, email Vicki Totten (vickit@stedwards.edu) or Jack Green Musselman (jackgm@stedwards.edu). A Spanish translator will be on site for this dialogue.
