It was a gorgeous day for service on Saturday, Feb. 23, as droves of volunteers gathered for The Project, UT’s largest day of service. The Project is now in its 14th year providing more than 25,000 volunteers to the Austin community. This year, approximately 1,600 volunteers worked at 23 sites on 110 projects in the Dove Springs community.

Students arrived by the busload and signed in.

Everyone from Vince Young to the Dove Springs cheeleaders rallied the troops.

And everyone got to work, mulching, painting, helping however was needed.

Even future longhorns to alumni gathered to lend a hand and a hook ‘em.

The health fair in the gym provided access to information and many health services for community members.

The generous folks at the Longhorn Steakhouse made sure everyone got a good lunch.
