April 8: NLP Dine with a Coach Puts the Fun in Fundraising

March 6, 2013

On behalf of honorary chairs DeLoss Dodds and Chris Plonsky, we invite you to attend the 13th Annual Dine with a Coach event on Monday, April 8. The event will take place from 6-9 p.m. in the Red McCombs Red Zone at the Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium.

A signature fundraising event for The University of Texas at Austin Neighborhood Longhorns Program (NLP), the evening will featue the legendary Bill Little as emcee and include appearances by the Longhorn Band, Texas Cheer and Pom, and BEVO.

All guests will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with UT Austin athletics coaches and former athletes, eat great food, experience exclusive access to the Joe Jamail Field, enjoy photo opportunities, and participate in a live auction.  Unique auction opportunities include:

  • Hook ‘em! A Private Fishing Experience: Enjoy a fishing trip with lifetime Longhorn friends Colt McCoy & Jordan Shipley.
  • Annual Colt McCoy Children’s Football Camp: Join Colt and his friends for a day of football instruction and a private one-on-one lunch.
  • BREITLING Flight Ride: Experience a plane ride of thrilling precision and amazing tumbling maneuvers with stunt pilot Captain David Martin.

Most importantly, 100% of the proceeds from this event will directly support the educational services provided by NLP. Established in 1991 by UT Austin Athletics, NLP is an educational incentive program for 2nd – 8th grade youth. Now housed in the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement, NLP annually provides educational services to approximately 6,000 socio-economically disadvantaged students in 30 schools. The primary objectives of the program are to encourage self-discipline, promote enthusiasm for learning and increase student success by exposing them to the college experience as early as second grade.
