On February 16th, ClockTower Cultural Productions hosted their 3rd annual Raas Rodeo. Raas Rodeo is an intercollegiate garba/raas (traditional India) dance competition that features eight of the best teams from across the nation. All proceeds from the event went to Baal Dan Charities, a non-profit organization that strives to help the the disadvantaged youth of India. The event was a great success! We had about 150 dancers in town from universities all over the country and a fantastic crowd to cheer them on. We were excited to award The University of Houston’s Roarin’ Raas second place and Michigan State University’s RaaSparty first place, while donating $1000 to Baal Dan. We are extremely grateful to the support we received from our sponsors including the Vishal Raju Bhagat Foundation, DDCE, Co-Op, Subway, The Princeton Review, and Kaplan. We look forward to making next year’s competition even bigger and better!
