Latinitas Summer Camps, June 24-July 19

Latinitas, one of the groups who will participate in the Latino Male Symposium on campus June 7th, will be hosting summer camps for Latina girls in Austin and in El Paso:

June 24-28/ MEDIA IS POWER Camp (Located at El Buen Samaritano 7000 Woodhue Dr., 78745) USE THE MEDIA FOR JUSTICE! Girls will create campaigns for social change. Utilizing the MyLatinitas.com social platform and other more grassroots techniques, campers will spend the week making change and having their voice heard.

July 8-12/ Cine Chica Camp (Located at El Buen Samaritano 7000 Woodhue Dr., 78745) Having a fan base isn’t just for Hollywood anymore. In the Cine Chica Camp, girls will learn about independent filmmaking, publishing and music while exploring multiple channels for promotion and success of their takent. Their videos, photographs and other works will be published on latinitasmagazine.org for the world to see!

July 15-19/ Fashion Forward Camp (Located at Latinitas Headquarters 1107 S. 8th Street, 78704) Can you spot trends? Have you been able to throw together an outfit from goodwill that could make the cover of Vogue? Girls ages 9-14 will have fun with fashion writing, photography, reviews and videos while creating their own fashion magazine.
